rolys.jpgRoly Saul's latest restaurant has recently opened in Thurles, Co. Tipperary to great acclaim. Based in a tastefully refurbished building which was formally a hotel, Roly @ Park Avenue offers both a relaxed brasserie downstairs and a fine dining experience on the first floor. With a bar on the ground floor, and kitchens both upstairs and down, a point of sale solution that could match in-depth functionality with flexibility was certainly the order of the day for Roly and his partner, Ronnie Carr. Maitre'D EPoS from Hospitality I.T. was selected following a number of demonstrations where the client needs were discussed and the point of sale was configured to demonstrate how these requirements were met. With regular menu changes and a selection of specials available on a daily basis, the system had to be capable of being swiftly programmed with updates seamlessly delivered to the appropriate terminals. Father and son, Pat & Julian Keown, proprietors of the long established restaurant, The Hungry Monk have recently taken the leap to move from hand-written and manually calculated billing to a touchscreen Maitre'D EpoS solution. Operating for over 25 years with manual dockets for both the customer bill and the kitchen, Pat had looked for a solution that delivered him the ease of use of a pen and pad but could provide him with informative and targeted business information. The Hungry Monk operates almost as two restaurants in one, with a relaxed bistro experience on the ground floor and an intimate restaurant on the first floor offering what has to be one of Ireland's largest wine collections with almost 700 bottles available to the discerning wine connoisseur. Pat had a number of requirements in his new EPoS solution including increased accuracy in orders reaching the kitchen, stock control, detailed reporting and all without hampering the informal nature of this long established family business. Pat gets daily email reports following the End of Day procedure, providing him with a concise record of the previous day's figures so he can monitor business performance regardless of where he is.

  • We found the Maitre’D EPoS system to be very easy to use with fast and efficient support available when we need it. Excellent service and value for money - as they say, it does what it says on the tin...
    Reports and management information is easily achieved from the back office system.

    The installation was very smooth as we had several meetings to discuss the solution prior to install. Rory was able to provide the builders with detailed information on where the cat 5's needed to be located and advise where the best place was to locate tills etc. Also, Sinead was super at programming and of course training the staff.  I don't believe any organisation should be without Maitre'D. I also believe that the guest reservation system GuestCentrix is definitely the first choice for reservation systems because it links directly to Maitre'D...I regret not installing this in Dukes. If I was to do it all again it would be both systems together.  Support from Hospitality I.T. is excellent, friendly, efficient and nothing is any trouble.  Excellent products & systems, great staff and super tills!

  • We needed a POS system which would interface with Opera (Micros Fidelio) and give us a full suite of applications from purchasing through to back office accounting spread over a wide range of bars and restaurants.

    Maitre’D has given us better cash and stock control with integration to our front office system, avoiding missed charges. It has also allowed us to continually monitor guest demands and menu popularity so we can respond in a timely fashion to the market. The level of control has improved and the void sales in particular are much better handled.

    The sales reports have allowed us to target cost issues and reconcile potential losses with reports being targeted to each department and available on many computers. The system lived up to the pre-installation promises. Training was concise and well directed; the installation was smooth and the after sales service very effective.

    Support has been excellent, and I would have no hesitation is recommending the Maitre’D system and Hospitality I.T. team to any professionals who need and appreciate a high level of competence and co-operation.
